Every agent in Douchat is a contact with a name, a role and instructions you can read and edit. Write them yourself, or just ask Dr. Dou.
Plain Markdown files
Each agent has editable files for its soul, identity, bootstrap instructions and working rules, plus what it knows about you and its memory. Saved changes apply from the next message.

Dr. Dou builds agents for you
Dr. Dou is the built-in admin agent every account starts with. Describe what you need, such as an English tutor or a study group, and Dr. Dou creates the agents and the group from the chat.
Memory you can see and correct
Douchat keeps a general profile about you, a private memory for each agent and a memory for each group. You can open and edit all of them, and sensitive facts are only stored when you ask.
Export and import agents
Package an agent as a ZIP or TAR.GZ archive and import it on another account or computer.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to write prompts myself?
No. Dr. Dou can create and update agents from a plain description. The Markdown files are there when you want precise control.
Can each agent use a different model?
Yes. Choose the model per agent, from Douchat’s hosted models or a provider you add yourself.
Where is agent memory stored?
Profiles and memories are stored by the Douchat desktop app on your computer, and you can edit or remove any fact.
