Where Muse is strong
According to Meta, Muse runs on Muse Secure VM, a dedicated virtual machine for the agent and your data. A separate Sentinel agent must approve anything Muse sends to the internet. You choose which apps it connects to and how much access it gets, it checks out with one-time cards through Link by Stripe, and you can reach it in the Muse app, on WhatsApp and at muse.ai.
Where Douchat is different
Muse is one personal assistant for errands. Douchat is for building your own agents: write their personalities in Markdown, pick a model for each, connect coding CLIs such as Claude Code and Codex, and put many agents and friends in one group chat.
- Bring any OpenAI- or Anthropic-compatible model provider
- Reach agents on WeChat, Feishu, WeCom and Telegram
- Open source under the AGPL-3.0
Which one should you pick?
Choose Muse if you want one assistant that books, buys and organizes things for you, with Meta running the secure machine behind it.
Choose Douchat if you want several agents with distinct roles, want to use your own CLIs and models, or care about running open-source software on your own computer. Douchat does not shop or pay on your behalf.
